Our Story 

King Cole Kindergarten has been operating since 1983. Our educators are dedicated, hardworking, passionate and caring, offering a family-owned and operated service. We offer a personalised childcare experience for young children in the Oonoonba area of Townsville. 

Open Monday-Friday between 7:30am - 5:30pm, we are a unique daycare and kindergarten. Being a family owned and operated business we’re able to offer you that personal touch you have been looking for. We believe that the early years are critical in children’s development and the quality of the care and experience they receive early in their lives will have a long-lasting importance. By joining us as  our new part-time Early Childhood Teacher, working within our small, fun-loving team.

What you'll do

This critical position will enable you to utilise a personalised approach to your interactions with the children in your care. Utilising a play-based learning environment, you will create supportive relationships between the children, families, community, and yourself.

Building trusting relationships with individual children, you will enable them to feel supported and valued through the various social and educational experiences on offer.

What we want you to bring

With a Bachelor in Early Childhood Education, you can be either an experienced Educator or a recent graduate. Most importantly, you must bring enthusiasm for making a difference in young children's lives each day.

You will also: 

  • Possess a thorough understanding of the Queensland Kindergarten Learning Framework and Early Years Learning Framework;
  • Have experience developing needs-based programs for individual children and the broader classroom; and
  • Understand how to evaluate and document individual children's progress and adjust plans accordingly.

Hardworking, passionate and able to make sound decisions, you will be able to form strong relationships with the children and extended families. 

All candidates will be required to hold or be willing to obtain a Queensland Working With Children (Blue) Card.
